Welcome to our May Cyber Crop … continuing with our Mixed Media theme we have 3 new challenges for you!
Mixed media is all about having fun and enjoying the process, sometimes we can get caught up in the mindset of churning out pages and project fast as we can, but scrapping and crafting should be fun!
Get your hands dirty, play with inks and paints and enjoy the creative flow! I challenge you all to do something new, or that you haven’t done for a while.
Challenge 1 – Pens & Ink
For this challenge, use your pens to doodle and/or add a border and add some ink.
We have a guest DT for this challenge, Marg McGellin from CountyPapercraft. My home away from home! Marg and Vicky run a wonderful scrap camp from Marg’s family farm, just outside of Bruce Rock, I love every visit and looking forward to getting back there soon.
Using Gel Medium and Pigment Powder
This month I have chosen to use Pixie Dust pigment powder in 3 different colours. Using gel medium and a stencil, to create a resist background, spritz the background lightly with water, sprinkle a little of the pixie dust over, spritz again to disperse the powder and move the page around, creating amazing backgrounds.
Note, there are lots of different brands of pigment powder
Have fun getting messy
Today’s Mixed Media challenge is about pigment …
Here is my inspiration:
I’ve used Shimmer dust in the background to create a circle.
This Uniquely “Full Bloom” paper really grabbed me. I decided to stitch with white over the lines to blend it with the background.
Can’t wait to see your “pigment” inspired creations.
Thanks for visiting.
We will be giving away 1 shopping voucher valued at $20.00, and each entry receives 1 ticket into the draw…..each challenge you do gives you a chance to win!
We will also have a surprise prize!! Our DT members will choose their favourite overall layout and I will send that lucky person a surprise in the mail.
