Welcome to our 3rd act – Somewhere over the Rainbow by IZ 

“Over the Rainbow” is a ballad by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg. It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, in which it was sung by actress Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy Gale.  It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and became Garland’s signature song.
According to EMI, IZ’s (Israel Kamakawiwo’ole) acoustic take on Somewhere over the Rainbow is the most requested version of the song by far.

Younger generations are more likely to know his interpretation than the long established Judy Garland version from The Wizard of OZ movie.

Debra here with my inspiration for this week’s challenge I hope you are enjoying these challenges for the 8 week Music Festival Challenge. This week’s theme is Somewhere over the Rainbow.

So we need to think of Rainbows this week. When I think Rainbows, I think Of Kermit The Frogs version of The Rainbow Connection,

The Lovers, The Dreamers and Me. I have titled my layout Dreamer.

I  used papers from Simple Stories Hello Summer range, which you can find in our store now.  The papers I’ve used are, Life is Good, Paradise Found &  Best Day Ever

I used 2 photos as stipulated in the requirements, I fussy cut pieces from these papers, and added them to a black Cardstock background. I used the sequins from the Kit and splatters of oxide ink to finish my layout.
