Hello crafty friends, it’s my turn to share with you some inspiration 🙂

Colours are an important part of our scrappy world, I was tidying up and sorting though some of my papers and an old decorating rule came to mind.  60-30-10.

It’s a classic rule for decorating a room, but it works just the same on layouts.  60% is your dominant colour, 30% is a coordinating colour and 10% are your accent or highlight colour.  This works to create a visual balance to your pages, but like all rules it’s doesn’t always have to be used, but it can help if you find your having trouble getting a page to “look right”.

For example my page below – 60% is my green – 30% is yellow and 10% blues.  And I’ve taken a bit of liability with the rule in my 10%, by having some pastel coordinating flowers.
And of course,  once you know how the rules and how they work, you can then learn how to break them!
